Stable Release

Test App Packages: 3730 (Let's Measure), 4111 (Let's Train), 3805 (Let's Practice)

Version 2.47 - 2021.04.07

Updates:

  • Navigation shows up properly on text select and image select
  • On image select, the corrective "try again" popup only shows up if this popup feature is checked on the app package
  • Better error handling during Let’s Measure and Let’s Train slide progression
  • Adjusted content API endpoint for Drupal 9 compliance
  • Added better error handling for unresponsive servers while downloading schools and districts
  • Silenced a "slide data not found" error message.
  • Added logic to bypass the "real data vs practice" screen for apps without school select options
  • Fixed a bug that was causing the user type to be set to "teacher" for trainer apps without a teacher-class-pupil hierarchy.

Recommended tests:

  1. USB Import test with a "blank" tablet holding no content - check that all files have been imported
  2. Set the app to the testing environment using the above steps so it points to the stage server
  3. School selection (Use Muchinga > Chama > Test School)
  4. Teacher, class, and pupil account creation
  5. Gradebook marks entry
  6. Go to view marks and examine data
  7. Visit the lesson select screens in Let's Practice and Let's Train
  8. Manual and automatic upload tests
  9. Manual geolocation upload test

Cautionary Notes:

  • Because uploaded marks can only be overwritten but cannot be deleted at this point, supervision and review of marks entry prior to upload is recommended.
  • If an assessment for a given class, term, and week with incorrect data has been already uploaded, and that assessment is then deleted on the tablet by erasing all the marks, the uploaded marks will remain in the database until the assessment is restarted and uploaded again.
  • It is not possible to record data on a class assessment wherein all students show up and earn zeroes.
  • If a class only shows up for one out of several days for one assessment, it is up to educational leadership to decide whether to mark that student absent for the whole assessment or mark questions on missed days incorrect. No partial absences can be recorded.

Updates to error handling during setup

  • Because setup steps may evolve, the "try again" directive that may show up due to a permissions error with an incorrect Scalefusion setup method is more general.

Auto-generation of test pupil accounts

  • So it is efficient to test how blank rows are saved and handled, pupils on this build are auto-generated without their assessments when you are on the Test School or pointing to the testing server. Fifty pupil accounts are generated at a time.

Version 1.74 - 2019.10.31 (Development Build)

Note: Only try this build with a newly installed app with no data, as legacy code has not been added yet.

Updates:

  • The styling from EDC's digital design group has been implemented.
  • The app no longer downloads the list of assessments or classes from the performance tracking database. (Critical fix)
  • Teachers, classes, and pupils must have been made given names and thereby made "active" in order to be used and uploaded.
  • When selecting an inactive teacher, class, or pupil, you are immediately brought to an edit screen where the name must be filled in.
  • After selecting a school, there is an additional configuration stage where you get to select starting numbers of teachers, pupils, and classes.
  • You can now select a unique starting number of teachers for each grade - same goes for pupils.
  • Grade three should now have its own gradebook with unique question sets.
  • You can now designated students as un-enrolled on the edit screen.
  • The grade now shows up on teacher, class, and pupil buttons.
  • The class and grade show up on class home, Let's Measure main, gradebook select, and editable gradebook,
  • You can now change the grade of a teacher, which will affect the grades of any future classes that are created.
  • Pupil table now shows grade and active status.
  • Device ID now a concatenation of device UUID and schoolId.
  • Each school has its own teacher list file, which should reduce the incidence of large list files and therefore allow the app to handle higher numbers of schools.
